Trashing the dress on Cloud Nine with WeddingGirl

Cloud Nine – n. A state of elation or great happiness.

Mary is a fabulous energetic wedding planner who runs WeddingGirl.ca. She decided to have her very own “Trash the Dress” session yesterday and I was there for the fun. The air was chilly and damp, the grounds were wet from the melting snow the day before, but you wouldn’t have known it by the look on all our faces and the laughter that was going around. Fun for all, including some of the bubbly stuff, hmm I love bubbly stuff.

It wasn’t your typical “TTD” where the bride dawns her dress again and gets it a little muddy. With this TTD, think shears. We started with a traditional wedding dress at the beginning of the day taking images throughout. By the time the last shot was taken we had… well…. let’s just say a not so traditional wedding dress, but very very cool nonetheless.

Finally, I had three layers on plus a ski jacket and was good to go except for the feet, they were soaked and frozen. You’ll see how our transformed bride was dressed, don’t get sick Mary.

Nice pix Joe – lighting is awesome. I’d really like to learn about your external flash unit that you use to coordinate with your external flash you attach to your camera.

Hi Joe,

It was great shooting with you yesterday and I agree with Laura, the lighting is great!
I love the way your photos turned out. Great job!

Wendy
