Engagement Session – [Erika & Kurt Revisted]

Erika and Kurt will be starting a new chapter in their lives next June, and I have the honour of documenting that very special day for them. You may remember them from a previous post (link). It was winter then, cold, and snowy, so they wanted to do another shoot capturing the fall colours, and naturally I obliged.

They’ve chosen the “Guest Book” for the wedding reception, it’s a wonderful item. Rather than have the usual photo or blank book, the “Guest Book” will feature photographs from their engagement shoot where guests can sign and leave special messages for the newly married couple. It won’t be kept in a closet or in a box, but will be placed on their bookshelf where this high quality memento can be enjoyed time and time again.

We headed out to capture these images recently, the weather was warm, the bees were buzzing, and the leaves were turning colour. A wonderful autumn day.

What am I trying to capture? In a word, LOVE.  I’m hoping to capture the emotion in my photographs, keeping the feelings real, keeping the expressions honest, and keeping the couple at ease. Enjoy the photos and leave your thoughts and comments for Erika and Kurt at the bottom of the post.

What beautiful pictures! You two look very happy together. It won’t be long before you are having your photos taken at your wedding! Love you both.

My favourite photo is the one where Erika is suggesting to Kurt in the nicest of ways, and I’m sure in the nicest of terms, not to touch anything in the store! LOL. Really, my favourite is the shot of the 2 of you sitting near the pond – Kurt’s in his leather jacket and the pictures is full of colour. Absolutely lovely!! Love, Aunt Deb
